Tins of Hope 1010

Decorated tins full of tags with encouraging verses made by SoF ladies

Tins of Hope 1010

Postby miss~nance » Tue Feb 23, 2010 4:14 pm

Firstly I would like to start by thanking all those who have supported our tins of hope last year by making tags and nominating people.

We at SOF HQ would really love to make this year a year that we encourage those around us who are going through difficult times by providing one of our tins of hope (TOH).

So what are the Tins of Hope The tins are altered cofffee tins that we fill with decorated tags that have encouraging or evangelical Bible verses on them.

Where do you come in We need you to do two things.

Firstly we need tags so if you could find some time and maybe use up some of your scraps to make a bundle of tags that would be just fantastic, any digi scrappers who would like to design and print digi tags would be most wonderful . Tags need to be sent to Gail (miss~nance - our TOH co-ordinator).

Secondly we need you to nominate people for tins. So if you have a friend, family member, church family or a neighbour - well anyone really - who you know is having a tough time, eg illness, death of loved one etc. To nominate just pm Gail with name and address, it would also help to know if they are non christian as I would make sure there are some evenagelical tags in there as well as encouraging tags.

And don't think if you are not really a paper crafter that you can't participate.

You could embroider a verse on something, stich a tag, take a photographe and photoshop a verse onto it. The list is endless, but we would LOVE to send these tags off with encrouagement in them :D

I found this fabric tag that was made for me last year, which will give our sewers an idea for fabric tags, all tha tis needed is a bible verse instead of the words embroidered here. Also you can write on the fabric with a permanent pen if embroidery is not your area.

I received a TOH when I had my hospital stay and medical issues and it was something that I totally wasn't expecting and it was a lovely surprise. thank you lovely thoughtful ladies.

I should give back by making some tags but don't hold me to that cos I still haven't made a couple of calenders for a relation that I said I was going to and it's March. Oops.

thanks again.

Can I say a huge big thank you for all the ladies who have contributed to these. I received a tin of hope after my baby Elissa died last year shortly after birth. It was a huge encouragement to me to realise people cared about what I was going through.

Since then I look at them whenever I am having a low moment. I also put them out at all of my Scrapbooking Days I run at my church and I can say most people take a few minutes to read them all which is great. A few questions have arisen from a couple of unsaved ladies so I can't imagine what it would do for these ladies to be given one.

Gail, I will commit to giving you some next time I see you

I am in need of more tags for the tins - I have just put two togetter to send to two ladies that we are praying for and do not enough left if I am asked for a third tin.

They do not have to be ellaborate at all, just a tag with an encouraging Bible verse and some deocration. I would just love some digi tags if any of our digi scrappers couldmake us some.

Also if you know someone who could do with some encouragment please nominate them by sending ME a pm.

No THANK you for your wonderful ministry that you have with your tins and being able to send them onto those who may need just bit of extra encouragement at certain times in their lives...... and BTW I did say I go into mass production when I get my mind set to the task.
